Buddha, Bangkok

Bangkok is a busy, teeming city, but we saw it through the eyes of Sanga Duangratana, Mimi's Cornell friend and an expert on rice. She took us to places we wouldn't have found on our own, bargained for us, and made us feel welcome in her city. She also decided that since we had seen the Queen we should also see the King, so she made sure to take us to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha on Chakri Day so that we would see the present (and American-born) King of Siam (um, Thailand).

In and around Bangkok with Sanga....

And we learned that not all markets float....

But the greatest adventure of all was still ahead of us....
