Introducing Dick's cousin Margery, matriarch of Clan Goodman.... She is our family treasure, an indomitable woman who, at 80, demonstrates for low-income housing, manages two houses, helps out at Navarro Vineyards (owned by her daughter and son-in-law), and once managed a hotel in Idaho after inheriting it from her husband until she could, finally, sell it.

In between times, she attends the theater and opera, travels, gardens, golfs, has a marvelous assortment of friends, and is wonderfully generous and funny.

Margery can't believe she's 80. Then, she says, she looks in the mirror and knows she's 80. But Margery isn't now and never will be someone whom any rational person would consider an old woman. She and her mind are far too alive.
